New Sneak Peeks

Monday, July 28, 2008

I know, I am terribly behind in sneaks -- with the 4 weekends of Weddings and then my trip to Toronto, I just got to upload these now :) I will keep it brief for now and then fill in details later :)

Here is a cute expectant couple :) Man, it was quite hot during this session, Mommy was a trooper :)

Wanted to do a few different poses then norm and love the way the ultrasound one came out - was exactly what I had in mind :)

My next session was with this tiny little sweetheart :) She was not in the mood to go to sleep, and was alert through the whole session :)

She was absolutely adorable though and allowed for us to dress her like a little doll ;)

Next in line was this adorable but active little guy! Poor thing - it was record heat / humidex I swear and he was not much in the mood to take pictures celebrating his 1st Birthday. He was good though, he allowed us to take the necssary adorable shots (thanks for help from Dady to get him smiling) and even stopped for a family shot :)

My last session with sneak ready was another family expecting a new addition :)
In fact, Mommy was going in the next week to have her new bundle of joy delivered :)

Wedding Sneak Peek: 07.04.2008

Friday, July 18, 2008

Well, I am still proofing away on my sessions and the Wedding before, but as I promised here is a little sneak into the Wedding on July 4th :)

When trying to select my pics this time, I decided to really focus on some storytelling ones of what was done to make it easier to blog yet at the same time, I didn't spend too much time fretting over which one to show :)

So, girls all started the day at a great little Salon in Dieppe (Today's Hair Designs) . The stylists there were absolutely amazing and did a superb job on everyone's hair. Here is a pic of the bride getting some of the final touches done on her hair.

After hair, it was time for make-up and everyone all met at the Salon at the Memramcook Institute. It was fun to watch the professionals at work. I will say, it was a little hot in that room, and I was wondering how the make-up would hold up under the heat - but I think it stayed flawless through the rest of the day / evening. They did a wonderful job at making everyone look glamorous.

Well, with hair and make-up done, we headed up to the honeymoon suite to get everyone into their gorgeous gowns. While waiting for all to get into their garbs, I took the opportunity to take some detail shots of the dress, rings, flowers, garter and more. Here is a little peak of the rings, flowers and garter belt before the bride put them all on and we got ready to depart for formal pictures.

Before we left, I managed to snap a few pictures of the bride making sure she was all ready / looking good for pictures. I kept thinking to myself she looked like a movie star :)

No Wedding in complete without pictures of the Bride and Groom with their family -- and these two rascals had to be included in a few shots. Taken very quickly as they were not exactly in the posing mood, I just love how this shot looks like everyone is smiling and happy :)

The Bride and her girls were a ton of fun and a blast to be around. We decided to do a few fun shots to mix in with the standard formals ones and I am showing one of my favorite here as they show off their matching garters.

Not to be outdone by the girls, they guys had to get into the play and have some fun too. Here they all are looking quite dapper as they try to pick up the girls (who I think were more interested in taking that great car for a drive then picking up the men)

I managed to get a bit of alone time with the bride and groom to take some shots of them before they all headed out to the church in Shediac. It was a very hot and sunny day, but we managed to find a little bit of shade beside the great stone building (which you will see in the next shot). I took the opportunity to use this shade to our advantage to get some shots of just the two of them without the glare of the sun bothering us. These two were naturals in front of the camera and managed to look relaxed and at ease, when I am sure they had butterflies in their bellies as the wedding was drawing very near.

I couldn't help but to take some shots of just the bride against the gorgeous stone wall .. I have a whole set of shots of her at this spot -- all equally as gorgeous. I picked this one to showcase her dress. I know my Watermark is likely covering some of the rest embroidery of her train -- this dress was among the favorite I have seen.

After the formals, it was time to take the drive to Shediac for the ceremony! The church was beautiful and thankfully the father let me take as many shots as I wanted through the ceremony. I love catching some of the little things that many people don't noticed - here the bride grabbed the hand of the groom and I was sure to zoom in and get a nice close-up. To me, small shots like this really convey the emotion of the day -- and bring back memories of my own wedding.

I had a perfect vantage point to catch the emotions of the bride and groom as they went through their nuptials. Since I didn't have to move around much, I really spent time in watching the ceremony and finding spots where I could capture the joy that these two were exuding. Here was a perfect opportunity - I just love their expressions in this shot.

Well, again, I am over the limit of 10 shots I promised myself I would try to keep my sneak peeks to -- Oooops lol. Oh well, as I said before, I have never been really good with rules. These sneak peeks are hard -- I want to show so much more, but I know I need to limit myself.

So, before I leave ya - I will show this one last shot of the bride and groom during their first dance. Now, take one look at this shot, and tell me you can't feel their love ;) Again, I was so blessed to be able to be part of their day - I had a lot of fun and look forward to being able to devote my efforts into a complete proofing of the day.

Sneak Peek: Cute little guys!

Monday, July 7, 2008

Last weekend, after my wedding, I had two sessions on Sunday with the cutest little guys and I thought I would show a sneak of the sessions while I am proofing the remainder of my sessions from the week before and starting on the June 28 Wedding full proofing! (Did another wedding this weekend, so be on look-out for sneaks of that)

Now this little guy looked like he stepped right out of a gap commercial and wow, he was full of energy ;) We managed to keep him seated for a few family shots (which are always really hard between the ages of 1-3 to get done as anyone who has children this age can attest to the fact that sitting still doesn't happen a whole lot lol)

He gave me a run for my money, and was bribed with a sucker (which I think turned out for some really cute pics), but I think we really managed to capture his personality in the session plus got some real cute ones of him without the sucker like this one. Doesn't he look angelic ;) . Can't wait to finish proofing them!

My 2nd session was with a little guy that I have been seeing grow in front of my eyes ;) I did his Mom's Maternity pics, his newborn session and Christmas pics as well... it had been a while since I took pics of him, and wow, he is growing into a real little man! Absolutely adorable guy! He was all smiles all the time!

My favorite thing to do to celebrate 1 Year pics is what we call the 'cake smash' and I don't quite think I have seen it done as well as he did! He polished off EVERYTHING and sat there amused with the whole experience! By the end, he was covered from head to toe and looked oh so sweet (pun indented). Here he is about midway through his cake!

Wedding Sneak Peek - June 28th, 2008

Wednesday, July 2, 2008

OK, so this will be my first sneak peek post -- and it is from a wedding, so it is also my first time giving sneak peeks of a Wedding. I told myself, I needed a rule of thumb for 'sneaking' weddings.. the rule I have given myself is no more then 10 sneaks! That isn't much when I suspect I shoot around 1000 images, but I just want it to be a little teaser. I will not be selecting my best shots, nor my worse (i hope lol). Since I want to give a sneak rather quickly to my bride/groom, I have opted for a real scientific way to pick the pictures -- pretty much close my eyes and point at one (my second option will be to have my 4 year old pic them haha). I have decided to not just plop some pics on here, but to kinda journal the day. Hope no one minds hearing me babble - but this is a blog afterall ;)

So, no need to drag this on any further --- here is a sneak from my Wedding on Saturday, June 28th, 2008!

First off, I must say I was lucky enough to do this couples engagement session a few weeks back. I always love doing these as it allows for us to kinda break the ice and get to know each other a little more. After their session, I was so excited for their wedding to come! They are both great for the camera ;)

We started off the day with some Getting Ready shots. I met with the bride and her party at the salon as they were getting their hair and make-up done. The day, along with most this summer, had the air of rain coming on -- but we were lucky and for the most part, it was a beautiful day. This shot was taken after the hair was done and the bride was getting her make-up done. As you can see, I am a little sneaky with the camera and captured one of her wedding party framing up a beautiful picture :)

After everyone was all done getting all glamored up (and I must say, they all looked absolutely stunning), we headed to the bride's suite to get into the gown (OK, I admit, I stopped for a quick bite. A photographer needs their energy you know haha). Upon entering the suite, I wanted to move in -- it was gorgeous and I knew would make for some great pictures.

Her flowers were absolutely beautiful and really popped off that amazing gown. Of course, I took many pictures, but here it is looking all ready for the bride to jump right into it :)

Oh, but a hanger doesn't do this dress justice. Here is a little sneak of it in all of it's glory on the blushing bride who is gazing out the window. She is likely thinking about the upcoming nuptials or maybe watching for her father to get back and pick up the rest of the flowers that were left behind ;)

Since the bride is all ready and looking radiant in her gown, it was time for me to head over and spend some time with the groom. I arrived in time to catch the groom in the shower -- you know men, nothing like last minute preparations ;) Oh well, I do think he cleaned up pretty good though ;) Here he is as we all try to figure out how to get those boutonnières on without poking each other ;) This sounds like an easy task, but it is easier said then done. Luckily, I don't think there were too many casualties at the end of this task.

The men had been entrusted to carry both rings, so I took the opportunity to take some detail shots. This on in particular was set-up as soon as I saw the piano as I knew there was a beautiful pianist playing at their wedding and I thought it appropriate to set-up this shot to show off the rings :)

With the guys all ready and looking dapper, it was time to ask them for a group shot. This was one of the more formal / serious ones -- Don't know if the bride will be too happy with one of the ones where I asked them to crack open a beer ;) Poor groom was quite worried and grabbed an empty bottle instead (ahhhh, isn't that cute).

It was time to make my way to the church, take some shots as the guests arrive and prepare to watch (and shoot) the ceremony. I love to capture those candid moments as mother of the bride is eagerly awaiting the arrival of her daughter, the ushers looking all handsome bringing guests to their seats and of course, the moment everyone waits for --- the bride making her grand entrance escorted by her father (in this case anyways). Won't show you too much of the grand event, but here is a little glimpse at the bride and groom as they greet on the alter and get ready to do their vows / ring exchange.

Here is a nice close-up - I always find it so emotional at this time. You would think I have known the bride and groom all my life - I always get a little misty here and this time was no exception. Thank goodness I can hide out in the back to take these shots so no one sees me shed a few tears ;) I will be a mess when my daughter decides to get married (when she is 33 -- that has been the rule I have given to her haha).

With the ceremony complete, and the day turned gorgeous, it was time to get some formal pictures. We did family shots over in Riverview at the Gazebo, and then met the wedding party on their own at another location. (By this time, I think they were nice and loose after a nice limo drive (and something tells me a drink or two was consumed lol). Here is the bride and her girls posing for the camera.

Well, if you have been counting, I have shown 9 pictures, and I told myself I would only show 10 -- which means, this last one has to be of the bride and groom together of course ready to walk off into the sunset and spend the rest of their lives together ;) I know it sounds cliché, but honestly -- these two seem so in love and perfect for each other. I wish them the best of luck together and hope that some day, I will be able to take their pictures again as their family grows. I was truly blessed and honoured to be a part of their day. I felt like part of their extended family -- the quiet one, in the corner, taking pictures when least expected (not as creepy as that sounds I swear)

OK... So, I have never been really good at keeping to rules. I have always kinda thought some rules are made to be broken. Since I am not showing any reception pictures, I had to show this one -- Hmmm, almost looks like they are pretty happy that the time for pictures is done and it is time to P-A-R-T-Y ;)
